Viacom Illegally Collects, Sells Children’s Personal Information Through Embedded Gaming App “Trackers” Class Action Lawsuit Investigation
Investigating a class action lawsuit against Viacom and its affiliated software developers on behalf of parents of children that play its smartphone gaming apps such as Llama Spit Spit. It is alleged that this gaming app, as well as others, unlawfully tracks and collects children’s personal information including app usage, geographical location, and browsing history outside of the app, in violation of federal child privacy laws. It is further alleged that this personal information is then sold to third-parties who create a profile of the child which can then be used for targeted advertisement, or resold or traded to another third-party database entity. All this is done without the child’s parent’s consent. If your child played Viacom gaming apps such as Llama Spit Spit, Patrol Pups to the Rescue, or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Portal Power, please contact us.
