RESORT FEES CLASS ACTION
Investigating a class action against hotel chain on behalf of individuals who have been charged "resort fees." “Resort fees” are generally charged for the costs for hotel spas, gyms, pools and other amenities. They have been charged by numerous hotel chains, including Fairmont, Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Starwood, and Intercontinental Hotel Group.
In 2012, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) send a warning letter to 22 hotel chains, explaining that their “online reservation sites may violate the law by providing a deceptively low estimate of what consumers can expect to pay for their hotel rooms.” Some customers made reservations before being informed of the resort fees. Some customers pre-paid for their room and were then charged a "resort fee" after they arrived. If you have been charged a "resort fee," please contact us. |
