Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Overbilling Class Action

Investigating a class action against the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (DWP) for overbilling.  It is alleged that the DWP has suffered from software issues since its implementation in 2013.  The system estimated bills instead of using actual meter readings.  Those bills were usually too high or too low.  If underestimated, the department later sent a corrected bill with the actual meter reading. The one-time corrections often pushed residents into a higher rate tier, as if they used all the power or water in a single billing cycle.   A recent report by the California state auditor estimates the overcharge in excess of $200 million.  If you were overbilled by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, please contact us.
