Inmate Debit Card Excessive Fees Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Investigating a class action lawsuit against companies that issue debit cards to inmates that come with hidden and often excessive fees. County jail systems issue inmates debit cards to retain their money while incarcerated. Numerous reports from across the country have found that once inmates seek to withdraw the money from the debit cards, they are charged excessive and unwarranted fees. In some cases, the county or sheriff’s office that oversee the distribution of the debit cards have had to accept fees on behalf of inmates when setting up the debit card. This then requires county or sheriff’s offices to reimburse the inmates once they are released. If you were issued a debit card while incarcerated, then determined the debit card company imposed excessive fees on use of the card, please contact us.
