CDPHP Delay in Hep C Treatment Lawsuit

Investigating lawsuits on behalf of individuals whose coverage for hepatitis C treatment has been delayed by Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan (“CDPHP”).  CDPHP and its affiliates serve members in 24 counties throughout New York.  The New York Attorney General recently sued CDPHP for delaying coverage for hepatitis C treatments until patients are in the advanced stages of the potentially life-threatening disease.  It is alleged that CDPHP failed to cover medically necessary care and deceived members about their coverage.  The NY AG alleges, that in violation of the law and CDPHP’s own policy, that CDPHP members diagnosed with early-stage chronic hepatitis C infection must monitor their disease and wait until they develop liver scarring or other advanced symptoms before their treatment will be covered.  If you or a loved one has had their coverage for hepatitis C treatment delayed by CDPHP, please contact us for a free consultation.
