Investigating a potential class action lawsuit against MetLife for allegedly delaying the payment of retirement benefits to beneficiaries. Complaints have emerged that MetLife sends only two letters to beneficiaries to notify them of the availability of their benefits, one when the person is 65 and the other when the person is 70.5. It is further alleged that if MetLife receives no response to either letter, they do not make any further attempt to contact the beneficiaries. Instead, they keep the unclaimed benefits and do not turn them over to the state as they are required to do so by law. Beneficiaries have been forced to call MetLife and request their benefits long after they were eligible to receive them; in one case a beneficiary claims MetLife was 13 years late in paying him and should have paid interest as well as the previously owed funds. If you or a loved one is or was eligible to receive MetLife retirement benefits and have not received them in a timely manner, please submit your information below.
