SNAPCHAT DECEPTIVE DATA PRACTICES

Investigating a lawsuit against Snapchat on behalf of consumers who used the app.  Snapchat recently settled with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for claims that it misled users about the the disappearing nature of messages, the amount of personal data the company collected and the strength of its data security.  According to the FTC, Snapchat made multiple misrepresentations to consumers about the functionality and security of its app and also failed to adequately secure its "Find Friends" feature that resulted in a security breach enabling attackers to compile a database of 4.6 million Snapchat usernames and phone numbers.  If you or someone you know used Snapchat, please contact us.
