Physicians Regional Medical Center Drug Diversion Class Action Investigation
Investigating a lawsuit on behalf of patients at Physicians Regional Medical Center in Naples, Florida. Florida state health officials recently issued an emergency restriction on Derrick Liston Anderson’s nursing license. Anderson was a former nurse at Physicians Regional. The restriction order states that Anderson is unsafe to work as a registered nurse due to opiate use and testing positive for drugs at his job. Anderson was previously fired by the NCH Healthcare System in Naples and by Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers for diverting pain drugs or other medications from patients and failing to document wasted medications or administered substitutions to patients. In October 2015, Anderson began working in the intensive care unit at Physicians Regional where staff suspected he was diverting drugs. Two nurses witnessed Anderson prepare propofol in a syringe, place the syringe in his back pocket and use the restroom. He later tested positive for propofol and others medications. If you were a patient at Physicians Regional Medical Center in the intensive care unit since October 2015, please contact us for a free consultation. |
