According to the Kansas City Business Journal, "A federal class action suit has been filed against Garmin Ltd., alleging misleading advertisement to sell its portable navigational devices. The suit . . . alleges [Garmin] used promises of 'Free Lifetime Maps and Traffic' – through overly restrictive terms and conditions – to get consumers to purchase the product. But the actual terms and conditions from the company place restrictions on the offer. . . . [The lawsuit] outlines the plaintiffs' claim that Garmin's (Nasdaq: GRMN) promises to provide free lifetime maps and traffic updates for various models of its devices, including Drivesmart, Nuvi, Drive, and DriveAssist, are deceptive."
