Investigating a nationwide class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals who were charged for unnecessary home inspections after obtaining a reverse mortgage from Champion Mortgage Co. After acquiring a reverse mortgage, an individual who defaults on their tax payments is permitted to continue living in the house after the reverse mortgage company inspects it. Inspections are limited by law to one per month. After the inspection, the reverse mortgage company charges the cost of the inspection to the homeowner’s loan debt. Champion Mortgage and an affiliate has reportedly conducted multiple inspections per week and sometimes multiple per day on homeowners. If you obtained a reverse mortgage from Champion Mortgage and have been charged with multiple home inspections per month, please contact us. |
